Badger crowdfunder receives magnificent response

We recently launched a crowdfunder to support the legal challenge we are taking, in partnership with our friends at The Badger Trust, to challenge the supplementary Badger cull licences issued by Natural England (see here for background to the case).

Our crowdfunding target is ambitious – £52,486 – because we need to cover the legal costs of both organisations rather than just our own.

In our newsletter yesterday, we asked our fabulous supporters to help us to help Badgers, and we’ve been overwhelmed with the response! We raised over £30,000 in just one day and our crowdfunder currently stands at over £50,000 raised. That’s phenomenal!

We’d like to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who has supported this legal challenge so far. We’re so very grateful, not just for the donations but also for the groundswell of support for our work. It’s a particularly busy time for us, with a number of legal challenges on the go as well as our wider campaigning work, so knowing that our Badger case is now pretty much fully-funded relieves some of the pressure and allows us to concentrate on the work in hand.

Almost there! If you can help, please visit our crowdfunder page here.

Our free campaigning newsletter tells you what we are doing and ask for your help in:

  • signing petitions – sometimes ones initiated by Wild Justice but also those of others that we support
  • writing to decision-makers such as MPs, MSPs, MLAs and MSs
  • responding to consultations
  • and yes, we’ll ask you for donations sometimes too

Our newsletters are read by up to 40,000 people and are sent out, on average, about once a fortnight through the year.
